This is Clarence Fredrick's deputy sheriff's badge from Forest County, Wisconsin. Not sure when but possibly in the 1920s. His father Victor Hugo John was elected sheriff twice, in Forest County, in the late teens of 1900 and was acting sheriff in the 1920 census.
