173 2. (6) Ola Vigleikson ovf.

------------------------------------------

2. (6) Ola Vigleikson (above) (1636-1721) took over in 1665, but his deeds are from 1669, 1672, and 1673. Those probably are for the parts inherited by his mother and siblings. His nephew, Vigleik Torsteinson, raised odel claim against Ola and demanded 1 lp. butter, 1 ramskin in the farm, which he claimed he and his siblings had better rights to. Ola offered him 5 spann butter in Flatabø or Baggegard instead, in order to keep peace in the family. Vigleik would not accept the offer and demanded judgment. When he lost the case, he accepted an offer to get Flatabø for a reasonable price, but the following year he again sued his uncle because he had not cleaned up and made Flatabø ready for him. The decision went against him then too, since there was nothing in the deed of 14 May 1707 about this.

In 1695 Ola owned 2 lp. 9 mrk. butter, 1 hide in Reiseter, and in addition he owned parts in Mannsåker, Flatabø, and Baggegard with his wife. He was church ombodsmann 1687-93. He was bedridden in his last years, and at the probate 12 Sept. 1721 Vigleik made a claim for compensation for the inconvenience he had had in caring for his father, but his siblings said that was a duty he had taken on when he got the farm.

------------------------------------

2. Lars Havtorson Måge, as it appears from the records of the court cases regarding the estate left by Torstein Bjørke at Voss, must have been a son of Havtor Gjerdeskvål, who was married to Torstein's daughter, not his sister, as has been claimed before (See A. Steinnes in Norsk Slektshistorisk Tidsskrift, XVIII, p. 205). Several of Lars'
descendants were involved in these proceedings, but it is difficult to tell which are children or grandchildren, since these cases went on over a long time and long after Lars must have died. The succession of children therefore is somewhat uncertain.
