adm. as freem. 19 Oct. of that yr. and was sworn in 18 May foll. brot. ch. Abigail, wh. m. perhaps in 1638, John Strong; Joanna m. 1633, Roger Clap; one, wh. m.
Aaron Cooke; and Hepzibah, wh. m. Richard Lyman; but these two last, with the first, were m. after his rem. 1636, to Windsor, where he was rep. 1638-41, 4, and 54.
His w. d. Apr. 1643, and it is said was bur. on the 18th of that mo. He m. sec. w. 7 Nov. 1644, Ann, wid. of Thomas Scott of Hartford, had, perhaps, Ann, wh. m. 12

Thomas and Elizabeth (Charde) Ford
Thomas FORD - b. about 1589, Dorset, England; d. Nov. 28, 1676, Northampton, MA. It is possible he was the son of John FORD III and Joan BECK (m. Feb. 3,
1583, Piddlehinton, Dorset, England), and nephew of Thomas FORD, merchant of Dorchester who died Jan. 20, 1610/11. The latter's will, proved May 8, 1611 names,
among others, his brother John, and "Thomas, son of my brother, John FORDE." Thomas FORD arrived at Dorchester, MA in the 'Mary & John' 1630 with wife, four
daughters and step-son Aaron COOKE, settled at Windsor, CT, where he was granted a lot in 1637, and moved to Northampton, MA 1659. Freeman 1631; deputy to
General Court 1637-1640; juror 1643 and 1644. In 1645 Thomas moved to Hartford, CT and established a tavern in the house of Thomas SCOTT. In 1652 he sold the
tavern, and in 1655 was Constable at Windsor, CT. Married probably first Dec. 13, 1610, Powerstock, Dorset, England, Joan WAYE (bur. there May 10, 1615); second
Jun. 19, 1616, Bridport, Dorset, England; and third
Nov. 7, 1644 Ann (-?-) SCOTT (d. May 5, 1676, Northampton, MA), widow of Thomas SCOTT (d. Nov. 6, 1643).

Dorchester. Frm. May 18, 1631. He rem. about 1635 to Windsor, Conn.;
extensive land-holder; deputy. Rem. about 1672 to Northampton. Wife - d. 18
April, 1643; he m. 2, Mrs. Ann Scott, who joined him in deed 23 Aug. 1672.
Ch. Johannah b. June 8, 1617, (m. Capt. Roger Clap,) Abigail, (m. John
Strong,) Mary, (m. Aaron Cooke,) Hepzibah, (m. 1, Richard Ly-man, Jr., 2,
John Marsh). He d. 9 Nov. 1676. The inv. of his est. was pres. Jan. 10, 1676, by his son-in-law John Strong, to whom admin. was granted jointly with Preserved
Clapp and goodwife Marsh.
Widow, came in the Fortune to Plymouth, and had 4 lots in 1623. Her ch. John and Martha had shares in cattle in 1627. Martha m. Wm. Nelson. (I think this must refer
to Mrs. Martha Ford who came in the Fortune, with the heading missing. As far as I know, there is no relation).

Thomas Ford arrived at Dorchester, MA, in the "Mary & John" in 1630
ith wife, four daughters and step-son, Aaron Cooke. He settled in
Windsor, CT, and requested to be a freeman on 19 Oct 1630 and was
admitted on 18 May 1631. He was included in a list of Windsor freemen
in 1669. Between 1633 and 1635, he was chosen as the Dorchester
selectman, fenceviewer, and member of various committees. He served
as deputy from Windsor to the Connecticut General Court numerous times
between 1637/38 to 1641.
Thomas Ford may be the son of John Ford III and Joan Beck (m. 3 Feb
1583, Piddlehinton, Dorset, England), and nephew of Thomas Ford,
merchant of Dorchester who died 21 Jan 1610/11.
